Emily Cross, DVM, DABVP
Dr. Emily Cross joined Purina in 2005 and is currently the Director of Purina’s Professional Resources Group. She manages Purina’s college programs at the University of California at Davis, Washington State University, Colorado State University and Western University.
Dr. Cross earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (DABVP, canine/feline).
As part of her role at Purina, she gives lectures on nutrition to veterinarians and veterinary students. She also consults on product development and coordinates clinical studies with leading academic researchers.
Her areas of interest include nutrition, internal medicine and dermatology. She is particularly focused on the effects probiotic supplements can have, both preventatively and in the management of common conditions in dogs and cats.
Dr. Cross lives in San Diego, California, with her Himalayan cat, Dewey, who she describes as “very cute and mildly entitled.” She also continues to see pet patients on weekends at a high-volume clinical practice near her home.
