AMENITIES

Show Sites
Show Sites include two, 40' x 80' tented concrete pads and manicured lawn areas equipped with a sprinkler system. A third show area is located on a second level (and off to one side) so obedience or agility can be situated away from the conformation rings. This area also has a 40'x80' tent. The three show areas are completely fenced. A fourth lawn area with parking is also available.

Parking
More than 400 hard surface parking spaces are available. RV overnight parking is allowed. There are 43 RV spaces with electric hook-ups and water nearby. Grass parking is available, if needed. The majority of parking is on either side of the show fields. One lot that holds approximately 150 cars is completely shaded by large trees.

Tents
Purina Farms has tents ranging in size from 10' x 10' to 40' x 80', which can be used for show tents superintendent’s area, grooming, food service, etc.

Obedience
Two full sets of 5' obedience jumps built to AKC specification are available.

Show Rings
Several show rings are available. The rings are white in color.

Spectator Seating
Bleachers and grass hillsides accommodate spectator viewing.

Support Equipment
Flagging, portable sound systems, tables, chairs, fans, ring gating, signs, etc. are available.

Herding Area
Purina Farms currently has three fenced-in areas that can be used for herding. A lighted A-Course 100' x 200' and a B-Course approximately 10 acres fenced completely with holding pens. Also a lighted round pen for beginning dogs and instinct testing is available. The farm can also supply over 100 Katahdin/Barbados Cross sheep that are herded on a regular basis.

Lure Coursing
Away from the show area, but still on Purina Farms property is a field that has sanctioned Lure Coursing and Whippet Racing Trials. Presently there is gravel parking in this area. Tents and equipment can also be supplied.

Earthdog Test Tunnels
Four earthdog tunnels maintained by the Missouri Earthdog Club and one maintained by the Dachshund Club of St. Louis are located on the grounds of Purina Farms, and available for use by terrier and Dachshund enthusiasts. The tunnels are built to AKC standards. Because the tunnels are permanently in place, holding an earthdog test at Purina Farms is easy. Bordered by a wooded creek and a meadow, this facility provides the perfect, natural setting for earthdog competitions.

Food Service
Specialized Catering has been contracted to supply all food service needed for any event ranging from snack bar food to catered dinners and cocktail parties. 314-457-0201

Covered Trellis Area
The Visitor Center area has a patio with tents and covered planted trellises that can be used to serve lunches or host a dinner or cocktail party.

Restrooms
Two sets of restrooms are located in the Visitor Center complex, which is directly adjacent to the show site. Portable toilet facilities can be brought to the site (at host club’s expense.)

Waste Management
Purina Farms makes arrangements for containers to handle all waste created from food service, exhibitors and competitor’s and pets.

Security
24-hour security is provided which includes gate attendant and roving guard.

Vender Area
A special area has been created for vendors, which is located close to the show rings.

Gift Shop
The Purina Farms Store offers a variety of unique gift and souvenir merchandise, as well as items with a specific breed theme.
